MEET CAMEO

Twenty years building software. Then I saw what AI could make possible.

I’m Cameo Doran, founder of Cameo Labs. I’ve spent 20 years in technology, building software.

When GPT-4 arrived in ChatGPT and I began exploring Midjourney, I started to see how much business was going to change. I was looking at these tools as someone who had spent two decades building technology—and could see what they might make possible for a company.

About five months after GPT-4 arrived, I started Cameo Labs.

FROM POSSIBILITY TO A REAL BUSINESS

AI changed how much I could take on.

It expanded what I could do across sales and operations, then in delivering software-development services to our customers.

At Cameo Labs, we build custom digital products and modernize software platforms for the AI era. AI became part of how we ran the business as well as how we delivered the work.

That experience is why I’m so passionate about teaching this. I’ve seen what becomes possible when you build a company with AI as part of the way it works.

I built Cameo Labs from zero to $3 million with a lean human team of eight. AI expands our capacity across leadership, marketing, sales, operations, delivery, and coordination.

The useful questions are practical. What job needs doing? What information does AI need? What should it produce? Who decides whether the work is good enough?

Those decisions shape how people and AI work together. Inside the Lab, you’ll see the roles, the information behind them, and how the work moves through the company.
